Major Breese, in moving the adoption of the Report, said that there seemed to be at present an awakening of interest in matters appertaining to their country and the young intellectual life of their University Colleges had found expression in the formation of local Societies which the Association would do well to foster. There should be a closer affinity between the Colleges and the Association, in so far as research work was concerned. He thought some scheme should be devised, and to that end suggested that the matter be referred to the General Committee for consideration and report. Mr. Eyre Evans seconded, and said he thought that these local Societies might become affiliated to the National Museum of Wales. They could thus be helped in their work. The motion was unani- mously agreed to. THE TREASURER'S REPORT was read by Mr. T. E. Morris, as follows The Accounts for the year ending December 31, 1922, differ from those of previous years, inasmuch as they contain an account of all the expenditure actually incurred during the year in other words, there are no liabilities to be carried forward to the following year's accounts. The debts incurred in 1922 have been paid out of the year's receipts, and we start 1923 with a clean sheet. Out of an expenditure of £ 922 19s. Id. represented by the first three items of the expenditure column, no less a sum than E337 13s. 5d. was paid to clear off expenses incurred in 1921. The sale of War Stock, which realized £ 316 15s. 9d., did not quite suffice to wipe off that debt, but happily the increased sale of publications and.
