SPRING COMMITTEE MEETING. A MEETING of the General Committee of the Association was held at the Reference Library, Shrewsbury, on May 7, 1923, at 2 p.m. There were present: Major C. E. Breese (in the Chair), Mr. Iltyd Nicholl, V.P., Canon Fisher (Editor), Mr. T. E. Morris (Treasurer) Revs. Canon Singers-Davies, Thos. Roberts, J. E. Morgan, Messrs. Geo. Eyre Evans, E. 1. P. Bowen, E. W. Lovegrove, Willoughby Gardner, Wilfrid J. Hemp, J. Bancroft Willans, Dr. Mortimer Wheeler, with Canon C. F. Roberts and Mr. Percy J. Williams, General Secretaries. Minutes.-The Minutes of the last Meeting printed in the Journal, Vol. lxxvii, p. 424, were taken as read and confirmed. Apologies for Absence.-Apologies for absence were received from the President (Sir Evan D. Jones, Bart.), Prof. J. E. Lloyd, V.P., Capt. Howard Cunnington, V.P., Sir Wm. Boyd Dawkins, V.P., the Hon. Mrs. Bulkeley Owen, Prof. Fleure, Mr. Evan E. Morgan, Prof. Emrys-Roberts, Mr. Harold Hughes, Mr. J. Griffith, Mr. H. Llewelyn Howell, Mr. Jones Morris, Mrs. Henry Lewis, Rev. Ellis Davies and Rev. T. Llechid Jones. Congratulations.-On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Rev. Thos. Roberts, the Senior General Secretary was accorded a vote of congratulation upon his election as Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, London. President.— Prof. J. E. Lloyd, D.Litt., F.S.A., of the University College, Bangor, was unanimously elected President for the year 1923-24, the motion being proposed by Mr. Eyre Evans and seconded by Mr. E. W. Lovegrove. Date of Annual Meeting.-A letter was read from Major-General Sandbach stating that in the opinion of the Oswestry Committee it would not be possible to hold the Meeting on August 13-18, owing to the Shrewsbury Flower Show being held that week, and suggesting August 20 and following days. After considerable discussion, when it was pointed out that the Association had generally met in the second week in August to suit the convenience of members attending the National Eisteddfod, it was resolved, on the motion of the Rev. Thos. Roberts, seconded by Rev. Canon Singers-Davies, that in the event of the Local Committee again stating the week of August 13 to be impossible, that the Annual Meeting be held on August 20 and following days, and that, upon receiving their reply, the date be at once communicated to the "Press."
