I have much pleasure in publishing the following extract from the North Wales Chronicle, containing an account of our Annual Sale of Work, which was written by one of the members of St. Mary's :— The Annual Sale of Work in connection with the St. Mary's Church was held in the Penrhyn Hall on Wednesday, November 16th. The hall had been prettily decorated with flags and banners, and it presented a very animated appearance. The proceeds were devoted to the St. Mary's Special Fund. In declaring the sale open, the Rev\ T. Edwin Jones, the vicar, made a very interesting and witty speech, in the course of which he said that that annual function had been a success, and every¬ body in connection with the church had done their share conscientiously. He praised the co¬ operation that was manifest on the part of the parishioners, and said that no vicar in North Wales had received more useful assistance from his people than he had. They had backed him up in every undertaking, and, thanks to the energy they had evinced, he had been enabled to carry every movement to a successful issue. There were incidental expenses in connection with the church against which they must provide from year to year, and he mentioned some necessities that were required. From the outset there was a somewhat brisk sale, the Old Clothes' Stall coming in for much attention. Most of the articles put up for sale had been made by the ladies in charge of the
