EASTER. Easter is once again at our doors, and it behoves us one and all to get ready for this great festival of the resurrection which commemorates our Lord's triumph over death and the grave. This has been described as the queen of festivals, and so it verily is, because it is the foundation stone of the Christian edifice. On this great festival the Church expects everyone who calls himself a Christian to carry out our Lord's last injunction, " Do this in remembrance of me." No-one should fail to make his Easter communion ; and we acknowledge with deep thankfulness the continued increase in the number of Easter communicants at St. Mary's. Last year the number rose to 414, which is the highest yet attained. Practically our congregations are exclusively composed of com¬ municants. There are very few unconfirmed and who have not yet communicated. Should the weather prove favourable there is no reason why our communicants role on Easter Day should not exceed 500. Last year 504, sent in their names for Easter communion, but only 414 fulfilled their promises. This year, however, the number both of those who promise and of those who will actualy
