It appears that some years ago an Eisteddfod was held for the benefit of the Church Fund, which unfortunately proved a failure from a financial point of view. The immediate object of this Concert was to pay off a debt contracted on that occasion. The audience was but small, probably owing to the (act that the Patriotic Concert had been held in the afternoon at the Penrhyn Hall, and that there was also a Smoking Concert being held at the same time in connection with the Town Cricket Club. But, we can say that all who were not present missed a musical treat, such as we have but rarely in Bangor, though it appeared to us that the audience was not very enthusiastic and scarcely showed its appreciation outwardly as we might have expected. The following programme was gone through : — Pianoforte Solo, Mr. T. A. Rowlands ; Part Song, ' Hark the merry drum,' Cathedral Party; Song, ' When the heart is young,' Miss Price; Song, ' A Soldier's Song,' Mr. Llew Roberts ; Comic Song, Mr. D. Hughes ; Part Song, ' Laughing,' Cathedral Party; Song, ' Won't you buy my pretty flowers,' Miss Rowlands; Welsh Comic Song, Mr. Owen Hughes; Part Song, ' The Three Chafers,'Cathedral Party ; Song, 'The gift,' Miss Parsons; Stump Speech, Mr. D. Hughes; Song, ' Anchored," Mr. Jevons ; Song, ' The Holy City,' Miss Rowlands; Welsh Song, Mr. Owen Hughes ; Part Song, ' Simple Simon', Cathedral Party ; ' God Save the Queen. The four gentlemen who formed the Cathedral party were Messrs. Jevons, Morris, W. Jones, and Llew Roberts. To them we are greatly indebted for their services not only on this occasion, but
