The first of a series of Mothers' Meetings in connection with St. Mary's Church was opened on Thursday, November 10th, at the Sailors' Institute, Hirael. The meetings are under the management of Mrs. John Pritchard and Miss Marie M'Kinstry. Eighteen women entered their names at the first meeting and chose material for work, and more have since joined. The meetings are held during the winter months on alternate Mondays at 2-30 p.m., and last about an hour. All mothers who are members of St. Mary's Congregation are invited to attend. THE WELSH MORNING SERVICE. We regret to say that the attendance at the Welsh Morning Service is not anything like what it ought to be. We called the attention of the Welsh Evening Congregation last Sunday to the falling off in attendance on Sunday morning. We hope that we shall be able to announce in our next issue that an improvement has taken place in this respect. There is also a falling off in the attendance of the Choir. The basses and tenors last Sunday morning were conspicuous by their absence. We fail to see what possible excuse young men with no ties whatever can give for their absence on Sunday mornings. Parents and heads of families may, at times, be obliged to remain at home in order to send the rest of the family to Church, and prepare for the mid-day meal, but even m their case the old adage is true, " where there is a will, there is a way."
