The Harvest Festival has been fixed for Sunday, October 2nd, and Monday evening, October 3rd. The Rev. D. Jones, B.A., Vicar of Abererch, will preach on Sunday morning in English and in Welsh in the evening, the Rev. Minor Canon T. E. Owen, M.A., preaching in English at the School¬ room. The Rev. T. D. James, Incumbent of the Welsh Church, Chester, will preach in Welsh on Monday evening, Oct. 3rd, at 7 p.m., in St. Mary's. Collections will be made at all the services in aid of the Curate's Fund The decorators are requested to meet in Church on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, October 1st. THE SALE OF WORK. The Sale of Work will take place early in November. Contributors are requested to send all the old clothes to Mrs. O. P. Jones, Mrs. Hall having kindly undertaken to accept the new articles. A novel feature of the Sale will be the Young Men's Stall which we understand has been successfully organised. CURATE'S FUND. We are glad to find that the officers of the Church have started collecting for the above fund. The districts assigned to Mr. Wells, Mr. John Pritchard, and Dr. Langfoid Jones, J.P., have been finished. The other collectors will doubtless go round theirs before the end of the month. Mr. Wells has collected upwards of ^"io, and in Mr. John Pritchard and Dr. Langford Jones' district, the response has been both generous and general; not a single refusal was met with in this district. The Churchwardens have issued their appeal on behalf of the above fund. It is to be hoped they will meet with a generous response The fund is now ^50 in debt, The Churchwardens rightly remark that it is a reflection upon the congregations of St. Mary's that this fund should be dependent upon chance bazaars, sales of work, concerts, and the subscriptions of the few. The members of the smallest little chapel in the neighbourhood gladly contribute to the support of the ministry. Shall St. Mary's Church show a less generous attitude towards its ministry ?
