The Editor, after careful considera¬ tion, has decided to abolish the system of having yearly and half-yearly sub¬ scribers, amongst the N. C. O's and Men of the Battalion. Those subscribers, to whom copies of future numbers are due, will receive them until their subscriptions lapse. In future, men who wish to buy the paper will do so under com¬ pany arrangements, and will be charged accordingly through their company accounts. The Coffee shop will also have copies for sale. The change has been necessitated by the large amount of clerical work involved in keeping the lists of sub¬ scribers up to date—in fact the depar¬ ture of time-expired men and details to Wellington, Poonamallee, etc., has rendered this practically impossible. We have received the names of many men who wish to subscribe for the current half-year, and are sorry to disappoint them, but trust that after the explanation of our difficulties, they will still continue to support the paper by buying copies monthly.—Our rates of subscription now stand as follows:— >> ™ 05 CO S O A S o a> Bates of Subscriptions :— ° 5 1S& P °-£ 'ac-g «s3 m "t? ." o 0 o CO £5 coO India—Officers & their friends, Messes, Clubs, Libra¬ ries, Institutes, &c... 1ST.
