The Harvest Festival will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday next, October 5th <fc 6th. * The Vicar of Brithdir, Rev. Edwin J. Owren, is the preacher in Welsh, and at the morning English Service and Canon Woosnam in the evening. We hope to see many at the early Celebration on Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock. We regret to record the death of an old and regular member of our congregation, Richard Grist, who was laid to his last rest on Wednesday, September 15th. The same afternoon was buried Cyril Blantern, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jerman, to wrhom, as to Mrs. Grist and family, we tender our sincerest sympathy. The next meeting of the Churchmen's Guild will take place on Wednesday, October 13, and will be an open one. Mr. A. L. Onslowr will read a paper on the possibilities of an invasion of this country by the Germans. The attendance at the opening meeting was not very good—about 40 being present—but those who came were much interested by Mr. Douglas Onslow's presentment of the arguments for thinking that the people of these islands are descended from the "lost tribes " of Israel. The C.E.T.S. held their annual meeting on Monday, September 20, when it was decided to hold a Temperance Mission in November in connection with the Forward Movement, and the Election of Officers were proceeded with when Mr. D. A. Lewis and Mr. Chas. Owen were appointed vice-presi¬ dents, Mr. Chas. Evans, treasurer, Mr. J. Arthur Jones, secretary, Mr. Edward Higgs, Guard, with Mr. Tom Jones as deputy, and Misses Florrie Rees, Celia Roberts, Mrs. Hamer, and Messrs. Rees, C. Brown and Tom Evans, committee. The Choir Trip took place on Thursday, September 16th, when nearly all the adult members travelled to Liverpool, the boys having had their outing on the previous Monday to Aberystwyth. We append a list of those who kindly subscribed and beg to thank them and Miss Winnie Walters, who acted again as collector. SUBSCRIPTIONS TO CHOIR TREAT. 1909. £ s. d. Mr. J. R.
