Picnic.—The last Wednesday in August was the chosen date for this established annual event. Last year's pic¬ nic at Llandinam was so enjoyable that it was unanimously decided to revisit that pic¬ turesque neighbourhood. The elements were more propitious on this occasion, and about sixty members and friends accompanied by the Vicar and Curate, met at the railway station. Upon arriving at Llandinam, the happy party at once proceeded to Llvvyn derw, which had been kindly thrown open for their use by the .Vicar (the Rev. James Jones) and Mrs. Jones, who contributed in no small measure to the success of the outing. The afternoon was spent in games of various kinds—including tennis, croquet, and cricket; some sought rest and shelter on the seats placed under the trees, and the younger visitors made a free use of the swings provided. All felt refreshed by the excellent tea laid on the lawn, the catering being done in their customary satisfactory manner by the Misses Roberts, Unicorn Stores. Mrs. D. A. Lewis (vice-president of the Society) superintended, and they were assisted by a number of willing; helpers. After tea the respected President of the Society (the Rural Dean) proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the Vicar and Mrs. Jones for their kindness. This was seconded by Mr. T. Evans, and carried with enthusiasm. The Vicar in responding wished every success to the Society, expressed regret at the impending departure of the Curate from the Parish, and said he would be happy to throw the grounds of the new vicarage open to the members in the future. After visiting the new vicarage, which is rapidly approaching completion, the party proceeded to Plas Dinam grounds, which Mrs. Davies had once more very kindly thrown open for them. Here a very happy hour was spent, and the party wended their way towards the railway station, feeling grateful to Mrs. Davies and family for their kindness. Whilst waiting for the train favourite hymns were sung, and on the homeward journey all were glad that they had participated in what was one of the Society's most delightful picnics. We wish to call the attention of the members of the Mothers' Union to the notice printed above. We are also asked to say that as funds are low Mrs. Morgan Jones will be very much obliged by any member or others who can send cakes for the tea. They may be sent to Mrs. Lewis, Bro Dawel, or taken to Caersws on the day of the Meeting. Remember the date— September 29th. Thk Harvest Festival this year will be held on the 5th and 6th of October.
