flriopstli Deanerp magazine. Vol. IV. (New Series). NOVEMBER, 1908. No. 191. LLANIDLOES. It is with much regret that we have to put on record the death of two most regular and faithful churchpeople—Mrs. Lloyd Kinsey and Sergt. Parker. Mrs. Kinsey had been failing for a considerable period and had been confined to her bed for some weeks before she passed away very quietly and peacefully on Sunday morning, October 4th. The funeral which was a private one took place on Wednesday, October 7th, and was conducted by the Vicar and Curate, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Marsden. Sergt. Parker had also been growing weaker for some time, and the end came quietly on Friday, October 23rd. He was laid to rest with Masonic and Military honours on the Tuesday following. Our sincere sympathy' is offered to the sorrowing relatives of both these excellent members, whom we shall miss terribly, and whom we can so ill afford to lose. Church Social.—It has been decided to have a church social on Wednesday, Novem¬ ber 18th. This is in accordance with the widely expressed wish of our people, and it ought to prove an extremely successful entertainment. There will be a short musical entertainment, charades, games and dancing. Admission sixpence, and guests pay for their own refreshments. Men's Guild.—Many of the male mem¬ bers of the congregation have been anxious to form a guild for mutual improvement, and at a meeting on Wednesday, October 28th, the wish took definite form. The exact name was left for the decision of a meeting to be held on Wednesday, November 4th, when the Vicar, who was elected president, will give an inaugural address. Rev. T. P. Rees, and Mr. C Brown, were made vice-presidents, Mr. J. D. Owen, secretary, and Messrs. Nuttall and Rawlinson, joint treasurers. Mothers' Union.—Mr. Rees has consented to give a lantern lecture to the members of the above in the last week of November; the exact date will be on the tickets. Choir Trip.—This took place on Monday, October 5th, when the majority of the mem¬ bers went to Manchester, and spent a long and happy day. The boys were sent under the charge of Mr Rees, to Aberystwyth, and were accompanied by those of the older people who missed the early train. Favoured with glorious weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We beg to thank very sincerely the subscribers and Mrs. D. A. Lewis who collected. Subscriptions to Choir Trip Fund. £ s. d.
