flriDpstli Dcanerp magazine. Vol. IV. (New Series). OCTOBER, 1908. No. 190. LLANIDLOES. We are glad to congratulate Mr. Rees on having attained the dignity of priest's orders. After an examination extending over four days he was ordained by the Bishop of St. Asaph in his Cathedral on Sunday, September 20. Mr. Rees returned from a short holiday on Tuesday in time for the Harvest Festival, and will celebrate the Holy Mysteries for the first time at the Welsh Communion on Sunday, October 4th. While on the subject of congratulation, we will offer our best wishes to the newly- married couples whose weddings are chron¬ icled below. Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt will, we are glad to say, remain with us, but the other marriage means a loss to us, as Mrs. Adams, of course, follows her husband to London. Church people will be glad to hear that they are to have another visit from Mr. Alderman Phillips, of London, whose address on Church Defence was so much appreciated early last year. Mr. Phillips, who is giving a series of addresses in North Wales (on behalf of the National Society) in defence of the Church Schools, will visit this Deanery on October 21, and address a meeting at Caersws at 2.30, and at Llanidloes at the National School at 8 p.m. On the occasion of his last visit, cards of invitation were sent to all church people, but we are sure that he is so well remembered that no special steps are necessary to insure a good attendance. W7e will, therefore, only say that all church people are cordially invited to attend and hear what he has to say. Don't forget— Mr. Alderman Phillips, on Wednesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. We append the list of subscribers to the Schools' Trip, and beg to offer them the sincerest thanks of those who benefit by it, and also to Miss Phillips and Miss Annie Davies for collecting. The balance goes towards the Sunday School Account, on which there are many calls : cleaning, fuel, and bonus on the School Club. List of Subscribers. Mr. J. R.
