Ox March 25 there was a Special Sermon for members of the Mothers' Union, Mr. Rees being the preacher. There was a good attend¬ ance, but we were sorry not to see more at the early celebration. The Bishop held a Confirmation at Llan¬ idloes on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m., when 36 candidates were presented: 20 from Llan¬ idloes, 8 from Llandinam, 6 from Llangurig, and 2 from Trefeglwys. It was a great dis¬ appointment not to have the Bishop for morn¬ ing or evening service, but he promised a longer visit next year. The candidates from this parish were: Frank Clayton, Richard Edward George, Ernest Walter Harding, William Emrys Hughes, John Frederick Jones, Thomas Arthur Jones, Tom Beeton Jones, Walter Thomas Lynn, Arthur Moyle, David Llewelyn Richards, Thomas Herbert Venables Roberts, Morris Calvin Tudor, Lilian Grace Alderson, Florence Amelia Carter, Margaret Catherine Grant, Mary Anna Higgs, Florence May James, Mary Ceridwen Jones, Rebecca Richards, and Sarah Elizabeth Wood. We regret to record the death of Mrs. Ashton, Picton Street. When her father (Mr. Davies of Cefn Penarth) died some sev¬ enteen years ago, she came to Church that the old tradition of the family might be maintained, and was a regular attendant for many years till ill health crept on her. The C.E.T.S. has determined to carry on its meetings until June, but hold them monthly instead of weekly on the first Monday in each month : the meeting for April will accordingly be on Monday, April 6. A good many have not returned their en¬ velopes for the Curate's Fund—many because they have mislaid or forgotten them, some, we are afraid, because they have not received one. Collectors will go out next week to try and gather in these fragments, and as they will have a book, those who have lost the forms can put their names down. The reduc¬ tion of the grant makes some special effort necessary this year, and we hope all Church- people will respond cordially. BAPTISMS.
