flriopstli Deanerp magazine. Vol. III. (New Series). MAY, 1907. No. 173. LLANIDLOES. On Ascension Day, May 9th, there will be celebrations at 7 and 8 o'clock, matins at 11, and evening service with sermon at 7-30. Whit-Sunday, May 19th, the celebrations will be at 7, 8, 10 (Welsh), and 12. Attention is drawn to the change in the hours of the early celebrations, which is made partly to give the Vicar a break in the course of the services, but not least because he hopes that many—especially mothers, who have to dress their children and so on, and those in domestic service—will find 7 a more convenient hour than 8. For the same reason there will be an extra celebration at 7 on Ascension Day. Following on the entertainment reported in our last number, a tea was given to the children of the Band of Hope on Friday, April 7th, when a large number sat down and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent cater¬ ing of Miss Jones, The Close, and her ener¬ getic helpers, and later the elders who had taken part in the " Famous Hunt" were entertained at a soiree. Mr. Arthur Webb very kindly gave useful presents at the Band of Hope tea to Gwen Rowlands and Florrie Brown, Llew. Richards and Ewart Lewis for regular attendance and good conduct. The china was kindly lent by Mrs. Brown, Dresden House. Wre append the extremely satisfactory balance sheet. BALANCE SHEET Of Band of Hope Concert, April 3, 1907. Receipts. d. We regret to record the death of Mrs. Hugh Jones—more familiarly known even after her second marriage as Mrs. Bradbury —which took place on Monday, April 10th. She was buried in the Churchyard on the Saturday following. She will be much missed by a large circle of relatives and friends. The Archdeacon—Ven. J. Lloyd Jones, of Criccieth—held his first Visitation here, on Thursday, April 25th, when Mr. David Holmes and Mr. Owen Owen, who were appointed Parish and Vicar's Wardens re¬ spectively at the Easter Vestry, attended and were formally admitted. Mr. J. Kerr and Mr. Richard Jones continue in office. C.E.T.S.—At a well attended meeting held on Monday, April 22nd, it was decided to adjourn until the early autumn, as it was felt to be useless to attempt to get members together during the summer months. A suggestion was thrown out that a picnic, confined to past and present members, might be given in June or July, and the matter was left for decision to the officers of the Societv. BAPTISMS.
