flricpstli Deanerp magazine. Vol. XIII. MARCH, 1905. No. 147. LLANIDLOES. There will be a service for men only on Sunday, March 5th at 3-30. This number will come into the hands of our readers just before Lent, which begins on Wednesday, March 8th. Now Lent is the solemn annual Mission of the Church, and we hope, and feel sure, that the success¬ ful Mission that has been already held in the Parish this year will have a great effect in ensuring that Lent shall be kept this year better, more earnestly, and with deeper devotion than it has been in the past. Many extra services we cannot add, as we already have daily services, morning and evening, but we hope that these will be better attended, even than they have been up to the present this year. For the first part of the Season we shall not have strange preachers, as so many nights are taken up with classes, but after the Confirmation we have arranged that every week we shall have a course. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 4—6, the Rev. R. W. Owen will preach each night; April 11 —13, the Vicar of Llangurig will deliver a course of sermons, and the whole of Holy Week the Vicar of Rhayader will exchange with our Vicar. On Ash Wednesday, there will be a Cele¬ bration at 8, Litany and Commination Service at 11, Evensong and Sermon at 7-30. Our arrangements during March are as follows:—C.E.T.S, Adult branch, on Mon¬ days at 8-15 ; Band of Hope, Thursday at 6. Bible Classes/or men, Sunday 2-30 (School) ; Tuesday 8-15 (School) ; Saturday 8-15 p.m., (Church) ; for women, Tuesday, after service in Church. Communicants Guild, with address on Holy Communion—Wednesday evening, after service in Church. The Bishop will hold a Confirmation in the Parish Church on Sunday, April 2nd, at 3-30. Classes are being held—for xvomen on Fridays after evening service in Church ; for girls, on Sundays at 2-30, in Church (but on March 5th at the Vicarage); for men on Sundays in School at 3-30 (but on March 5th at 2-30) ; for boys on Wednesday evening at 6-30 in School. Anyone who wishes to come to Confirma¬ tion, but to whom the Vicar has not spoken, would do well to write name and address on a bit of paper, and drop it in one of the boxes at the bottom of the Church. The Rev. J. P. Lewis, Vicar of Conway, who is considered one of the best lecturers in North Wales, will give a lecture here on March 21st or 22nd, on his " Trip to the Holy Land," illustrated by lantern slides from very beautiful photographs. Proceeds towards the Sunday School Funds which are very low indeed. Further particulars on posters. PAROCHIAL xMISSlON. It is safe to say that the memory of the Mission, which was conducted in the Parish Church by the Rev. O. F. Jacson, of Moreton Saye, will never fade from the memory of those who attended the services regularly. The impression made on their minds was deep, and we believe and pray will be lasting. Of some definite results produced we hope to speak in our next number ; in this, while the limited space at our disposal forbids any adequately full account, we purpose setting down only the more salient features. Most important of course were the evening services —the Mission services properly so called. These began with a short prayer, followed by a hymn, and then came the intercessions (these increased greatly during the ten days, and many petitions received striking and immediate answer from God ; none we are sure will ultimately fail; intercessions may, and we hope will, continue to be sent in, and may be put into one of the boxes in Church). There followed another hymn, a reading, and the sermon, leading to the aftermeeting, which most found to be most stimulating and ' reviving ' part of the whole service. It will be useful to give short headings of the subjects taken each day, as they will serve as means of recalling what the Missioner said to them
