Reports from the various parishes are so full Oiis month that both our ' Gtneral ' and 'Llanidloes ' news has had to be curtailed to the briefest possible limit. GENERAL. A special meeting of the Mothers' Union was held at the National Schools, Llanidloes, on August 18th, by desire of Mrs. Williams. Glyngarth Palace, who was anxious that she and the mothers of the Deanery should have an opportunity of bidding good-bye to the local president Mrs. Morgan Jones, before she left Llandinam, for Llanwrin. The notice was so short that it was impossible to communicate with the members in some parishes, but there was none the less a very good attendance. Mrs. Williams gave an excellent address, and concluded by presenting Mrs. Morgan Jones ■with a photograph album and the recipient responded in the following graceful speech. " 1 only read in our Arwystle magazine last week that on the 10th July, I was present with you for the last time and here I am to-day, turning up like a bad penny. 1 then thought it was the last time, but through the great kindness of Mrs. Williams our president we all meet together this afternoon. I do not know how to thank Mrs. Williams enough for all her goodness to me and I think it such a kind thought of her to have you all photographed. I shall always value that photograph and 1 am sure shall always think of the happy time I have spent among you all. It was Mrs. William's wish that the Mothers' Tnion should be started in Arwystle R.D. and with the excellent help of the clergy and their wives, we have made a good start, and I trust you will all give the same hearty assistance to my suc¬ cessor. There is one request I should like to ask you all, and that is to always remember to say your M.IT. Prayer, you know prayer is such a help. I had a letter from a member of this branch thanking me for being the means of her join¬ ing the M.TJ. and telling me what a comfort it was %o her in her trouble to think that other mothers were praying for her, as well as themselves, you knuw in the prayer you ask God to help you and all who belong to the M.U., it is such a nice thought to take with me that you will all be praying for me, so that I inay be enabled to do my duty in our new parish. If at any time I have done anything to hurt any of your feel¬ ings will you kindly forget and forgive me." Those present then sat down to an abundant tea by the kind invitation of Mrs. Williams, and all were afterwards photographed in order that Mrs. Jones might have a memento of the occasion. The catering was well done by Miss Roberts, Unicorn Stores. LLANIDLOES. The Sunday School Trip to Aberystwyth, took place on August 17th, and was very largely patronised. In spite of a gloomy morning we were blest with tine weather by the sea¬ side and a most enjoyable day was spent. List of subscribers next month.
