The Lord Bishop of the Diocese will hold a general Confirmation for the Deanery of Arwystli in the Parish Church of Llandinam pn Wednesday, March 25th, at 2-30 p.m. LLANIDLOES. The marriage arranged between the Rev. William Cower Jones and Miss Harriet Louisa Paull was celebrated at the Parish Church on Wednesday, February 18th, at 1 o'clock. Although the wedding was meant to be a quiet one, there was a "very large congregation assembled to witness the ceremony, which of course was fully choral. The opening part of the seryi.ce was taken by the Rev. J. Gower (uncle of the bridegroom and Rector of Trefriew), and after the betrothal Hymn 350 (The voice that breathed o'er Eden) was sung, and the Vicar proceeded with the central part of the ceremony Moving up to the altar, the 129th Psalm was chanted, and then Mr. Gower read the remaining prayers. Then followed Hymn 351 (How welcome was the call), and the Vicar gave a short address to the young couple, founding his remarks we understand on the 13th Chapter of First Gorinthians, bnt he was not audible in the body of the Church. Concluding, he handed the Bible he had been using to the bridegroom, as a parting gift from the choir and himself The hand¬ somely bound volume contained the full Bible with apocrypha, together with the Book of Common Prayer and Hymns Ancient and Modern with music, and had a suitable inscription illuminated on the fly-leaf. The Altar had been beautifully decorated by Miss Marshall and Mr. J. H. Williams, and looked most festal in its decking of snowdrops and white lilies. The happy pair left at 3-30 for Shrewsbury en route for their new home at Hodnet, where we hear they are already happily settled in their house, and where they will be followed by every kind wish from Llanidloes.
