A meeting of the Ruridecanal Chapter was held at Trefeglwys Vicarage, on Thursday, May ist, when the following Clergy were present;—Revs. M. Jones, R, D., Llandinam, E, Edwardes, Tret- eglwys, E. O. Jones, and W. Gower Jones, Llan¬ idloes, T. H. Hughes, Llangurig, W. L. Richards, Penstrowed, J. Jones, Llanwnog, and J. Edwards, Carno. The meeting was preceded by a celebration of the Holy Communion in the Parish Church at ii o'clock, the Vicar being the celebrant, assisted by the Vicar of Llanidloes. Prayers having been said by the Rural Dean, the minutes of the pre¬ vious meeting were read and confirmed. Several Church questions were introduced and discussed. It was decided to hold the Choral Festival at Llanidloes on June nth (S. Barnabas*): rehearsal to take place at 3~45» and Evensong at 5-30. E, EDWARDES, Chapter Clerk. SUNDAY SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Sunday School Association for the Deanery was held at the National School, Llanwnog, on Friday, May the 30th. The Rev. Morgan Jones, R.D,, presided, and there was a goodly attendance of Clergy and Teachers, not^ withstanding the inclemency of the weather, The meeting was opened with singing and prayer. After the minutes of the previous meeting had been read and confirmed, the Rural Dean introduced the Rev. Canon Williams, Vicar of Newtown, who delivered a very excellent and practical address on "Sunday Schools—their strong and weak points." The address was much appreciated, and was favourably commented upon by *he Vicars of Llan¬ wnog and Penstrowed, the Rural Dean and the Secretary. The Vicar of Llanwnog proposed a vote of thanks to Canon Williams, which was seconded 'by the Rector of Penstrowed, which Canon Williams briefly acknowledged, expressing the pleasure it gave him to take part in the good work being done by the Association, The report of the Committee on the subject of an Annual Sunday School Festival was presented by the Rev. W. L. Richards, and after some dis¬ cussion was adopted, and the Committee was empowered to draw up a syllabus of work, based on the Diocesan Syllabus, for the Festival to be held at Llanidloes, and submit it to the next meet* ing in September. The meeting was closed with singing and prayer, and Clergy and Teachers were afterwards invited tojjtea at the Vicarage. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Vicar and Mrs. Jones for their hospitality, proposed by the Rural Dean and seconded by the Secretary, CHORAL FESTIVAL, The Choral Festival for the Deanery of Arwystli will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, at the Parish Church, Llanidloes. Rehearsal will take place at 3-30 p.m., immediately after which members of the choirs will proceed to the National School, where tea will be provided at sixpence per head. Evening Service will be held at 5-30 p.m., when the preacher will be the Rev. T. Redfern, Vicar of Holy Trinity, Oswestry. LLANIDLOES.
