* ^YSTIil WPSY W&WW ♦ No. 105. IfoL. IX. SEPTEMBER, 1901. Prjjce One Penny. LLANIDLOES, The Choir Trip this -year was of a somewhat varied nature, the members having failed to agree upon a com¬ mon course of action. Thus a few of the men took their trip to Merthyr, to visit the National Eisteddfod, and at the same time to assist the Ohoir which was com¬ peting for the Second Choral Prige —unfortunately ,thifl year without success. A somewhat larger party— comprising some fourteen ladies and men and including Messrs. Oswald Owen and Tom Jerman who always give us regular help in their holiday time, and Mr. and Mrs Parker who have so recently left as—paid a visit to the ever-popular Floral Fete at Shrewsbury on August 21st. Many of the men were unavoidably prevented from joining in this trip as our own Show fell the next day, hut those who went as usual thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the weather being quite perfect, and the many attractions of the Fete in no way falling below the high standard pf previous years. On the following Friday the Vicar took the boys and a couple of the ladies to DeviKs Bridge. A delightful drive, glorious scenery, seen first in daraling sunlight and coming home by moonlight, and a very enjoyable 4 al fresco ' lunch and tea, combined to make the day one which will be long remembered by those who had the pleasure of sharing in it. Those members of the Choir who joined in none of these trips had their share of the money, which was provided by the following generous subscribers, tp whom, on behalf of the Choir we beg to render our heartiest thanks- £ s d. How¬ ever, we certainly enjoyed what is commonly supposed to be so healthy—a blow by the sea, jfor the wind wai something never to bo forgotten, and ought to blow the cobwebs from the most wort-be-muddled brains. All the arrangements were satisfactorily carried out by Messrs. R M. and J. Davies, Charles Owen, not forgetting Mr. Stanhope, the courteous Cambrian Railway Official.
