A Confirmation will be held in the Parish Church on Sunday, March 17th, by the Lord Bishop of the Diooese Classes are now being held as follows—for boys on Mondays at 8 p.m. ; for girls under twenty on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.; and for those oyer twenty on Thursdays at 6-30. The Vicar has not yet ascertained whether any Candidates will be brought from the neighbouring parishes : if there are any, the ceremony will probably be fixed for the afternoon ; but if not, it will take place immediately after morning service. We are glad to be able to announce that the Bishop has promised to preach at the evening service on March 17 th. During Lent the services on Wednesdays will be at 7 p.m., and there will be a sermon. We Gannot expect strange preachers every week, as the Vicar at present cannot pay his debts in that respect, being bound at home by the various classes, all of which in the absence of a Curate, be has to take bimself. The Vicar of Carno, has kindly consented to come over and preach on Wednesday, March 13th. Mr. W. Gower Jones wbo has been offered a Title as Curate for this parish, has successfully passed his Ordination Examination, and was ordained on Sunday, March 3rd, by the Bishop of St. David's, and so we may hope to see him in residence among us in the course of next week. He will, we are sure, have the earnest wishes and sincere prayers of the congregation that the career he is now entering upon will be blessed with prosperity for himself and the parish. We regret to find that the Registers have been neglected for some months. We bring them up to date in the present issue, and hope to keep up with the times in future. It is in contemplation to make some additions to the Vicarage, and take the opportunity of so doing to lay on a Water Supply and an adequate Drainage Scheme, both of which are now conspicuous by their absence. The Churchwardens inspected the bouse recently, and were surprised at the poverty and mean¬ ness of the back premises, and the small bedroom accommodation. Plans have been prepared, and a meeting was held on Thursday, March 7th, to consider the proposal, and if adopted, how to carry them out.
