The Harvest Festival Services will be held in the Parish Church, on Tuesday & Wednesday, September 12th and 13th. On Tuesday evening there will be Welsh Service and Sermon at 7, Preacher—Rev. John Rowland, Vicar of Aberdovey. On Wednesday, there will be a celebration of the Holy Communion at 8-30, and at this service—the great Thanksgiving service appointed by the Church and ordained by the Great Head of the Church Himself—we hope to see a large cumber present; Morning service at 11, Preacher, The Vicar of Aberdovey; evening service at 7, Preacher, The Rev. Thomas Owen, Vicar of Christ Church, Wellington. Offerings of frait, flowers, vegetables, bread etc., will be thankfully received, and after the Festival will be distributed among the poor. They should be sent to the Church on Tuesday, September 12th. The annual Church Snnday and National School trip to Aberystwith, which took place on the 21st of "August was a complete success in every way. Large numbers availed themselves of the opportunity of having an enjoyable day at the seaside, and were fortunate in having a beautiful day. Mr. Jno. Davies, L. & P, Bank, who was assisted by Messrs. C. Owen, J. Davies, Harvey House, and E D- Davies, is to be congratulated on the complete arrangements made for the comfort of all concerned. The money was collected this year by Misses Mary Owen and Avarina Jerman, who deserves the warmest gratitude for their energetic efforts to provide the needful. A list of the subscribers will be given next month. THE BAZAAR. As announced in last month's issue of the Magazine the Bazaar will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 4th, 5th and 6th, and will be opened on the first day by Mrs. Watkin Williams, The Palace, Bangor, on the second day by Mrs. Lloyd-Verney, Clochfaen, Llangurig, and on the third day by Mrs. Phillips, Aberystwyth. The general stalls which will contain a charming variety of useful and decorative articles calculated to please the eye and open the heart—and pocket—will be under charge of the follow: ing ladies :—A. Mrs. Jones, Vicaiage, Miss Lloyd- Kinsey, China Street, Miss Griffiths, Commerce House. B. Mrs. Davies-Jenkins, Penygreen, Mrs. Kerr, Snmmerfield. C. Mrs. Cornforth, Trewythen Arms Hotel, Mrs. Paull, Greenfield, Mrs. Webb, Wood- bourne. D. Mrs. Grant, Penrallt, Mrs. Roberts, Bethel Street. They will be glad to receive and to acknowledge with sincere gratitude any contributions in kind or money. Miss Marshall Severn View, will preside over the Flower stall—while Refreshments will be dispensed by Mrs. Kinsey, Brynllys, and Mrs. Davies, L. & P. Bank. We are unable to give a detailed account of the various amusements and enter¬ tainments that will be given, bat we venture to promise a splendid variety of undoubted excellence. Fall particulars will be made known to the public as soon as possible Proceedings will commence on Wednesday, at 2 o'clock. Admission Is. after six 6d. On Thursday and Friday at 3 o'clock. Admission 6d., after six 3d. One word as to the object of the Bazaar. All who know the Parish Church cannot but feel how unworthy of the rest of the magnificent building is the shabby appearance of the east end—a part which in most Churches is very rightly made the most beautiful of all. When the Church was so nobly restored and extended by the present Archdeaoon of Merioneth it was never intended that the east end should remain in its present bald condition for any length of time, and the present generation of worshippers as well others who, not of us are yet proud of their fine Parish Chu ch must feel that it is high time to complete the work. No more we trust, need be said to induce every churchman and churchwoman as well as many Nonconformists to lend a helping hand to make the Bazaar a complete success in every way. We have again tc congratulate Miss Annie Evans on a Scholastic success—this time in the capacity of Sunday School Teacher. As the result of an Exam¬ ination held last June, she has been placed second in the list of successful Sunday School Teachers through¬ out the Diocese, and as a consequence is entitled to a selection of books to tne value of £ I as prize.
