Every Thursday during Lent there is full Choral Evensong with Sermon at 7 p.m. The Preachers during the remaining weeks will be as follows :— March 9—Rev. J. S. Lewis, Rector of Newtown. „ 16—Rev. Howard A. Orosbie, Vicar of Builth. „ 23—Rev. L. H. Evans, Vicar of Rhayader. „ 30 —Rev J. E. Lloyd, Vicar of Newbridge. Every evening during Lent there is short Even¬ song at 7 p.m., with brief jeadings on the passion of our Lord. So far these services have been very eparseley attended, the average scarcely reaching ten. Surely we may hope to see a few more during the second half of Lent. During Holy Week—i.e., the week before Easter, commencing on Palm Sunday, March 26th—the services will be as follows on Week days :— Every-day—Holy Communion at 8-30. ,, Morning Service at 11, with readings on the Holy Communion. On Monday and Tuesday, Evensong and Sermon by the Parish Ciergy. On Wednesday, March 29th, at 8 p.m., there will be a Lantern Sei vice illustrating the sufferings and death of our Lord, with suitable readings, and the Story of the Cross, and suitable hymns will be sung. On Thursday, Evensong and Sermon by tli6 Vicar of Newbridge. On Friday, the Three Hours Service from 12 to 3, will be taken by the Vicar of Newbridge, who will give Addresses on the seven words of our Lord on Calvary. At 7 p.m. there will be a short service and a selection of Solos and Choruses from the Messiah will be sung by the Choir. Saturday, Evensong and Reading. On Easter Sunday, April 2nd, there will be celebra" tions of the Holy Communion at 8, 9, 10, (in Welsh) and 12 noon. There is much talk nowadays of the " Lawlessness of the Clergy." There are many Church laws bind¬ ing on the Clergy, and taking them all-in-ali they are fairly well kept. There are very few laws which the Church Laity are bound to observe, as our Church allows the greatest possible liberty of conscience to each individual soul, but there is one law too often neglected or wilfully broken which enjoins ev*rf Churchman to communicate three times in each year of which Easter shall be one. May we not hope that all our confirmed people will obey this law this year ? Churchpeople will be doing some useful and easy Missionary wcrk by trying to briug people who do
