A meeting of the Ai^wystliRuridecanal Chapter was held at Trefeglwys Vicarage on Thursday, May 12th, when the following were present:—Revs. M. Jones, R.D., T. R Jones, E. Edwardes, E. O. Jones, T. H. Hughes, 0. K, Williams, W. D. Roberts. Rev. D. Parry, Vicar of Llanwnog, sent a letter regreting his inability to attend. The meeting was preceded by a celebration of the Holy Communion in the Parish Church at 11 o'clock, at which the Vicar officiated as celebrant, assibted by Rev. O. K. Williams. The Chapter had been summoned to consider what arrange¬ ments should be made for the future conduct of the meetings, in consequence of the severance oi;. the Clergy of Arwystli from the joint Clerical Meeting which had been previously held alternately in Arwystli and Cyfeiliog Deaneries. It was decided that Regular Meetings of the Chapter should be held four times a year—on or about the first day of May, July, Septein ber and JN'ovember, the particular day to-be fixed by the Rural Dean. At such meetings a portion of scripture will be read arid discussed with reference to the original, and also a paper on some matter of interest to the Church the portion of scripture selected for the present being the Burial Lesson. Ito was also decided that laymen may be invited to an afternoon meeting at the discretion of the Incumbent of the Parish where the meeting is held. The Chapter was invited to hold its next meeting at Llandinam Vicarage; The Sunday School Association of the Deanery, arid the Ruridecanal Church Committee will also meet on the same day, The Rural Dean and the Vicar of Llangurig have promised to'read papers at the meeting of the gufiday School Association^ and it ; is to be hoped that the teachers from every parish in the Deanery will make every effort to attend. The date of the meeting will be> made known in good time. W, DAVID ROBERTS, Chapter Clerk. LLANIDLOES. Time and space or rather the want of them made it impossible to give an adequate account of the Church Choral Society's Concert in the last number of the Magazine, bnt our readers who were not present will have seen full accounts in the local papers. We wish to say that we are under special obligations to Miss Jennie Higgs and Miss Bessie Evtfris^for the gener nas ^assistance they gave us. It was 'generally remarked that -Miss'..'Higgs had never been heard to greater advantage in Llanidloes—arid thai is saying a great deal, while every body was charmed with the delight¬ fully expressive singirig ef Miss Evan's. The services of Mr. Miller of Llandaff (Bass), and Mr. Friend Haigh (Tenor) were also highly appreciated. The sincere thanks of the Society, and I may add of the audience are due to Miss Marshall for her effective assistance at the piano. Mr. R. M Davies may be congratulated on the success of the concert, and of the part taken in it by the choir. It was pronounced ou all hands to be one of the most successful Concerts ever given in Llanidloes. At the close the Vicar expressed, his obligations to all who have br^en mentioned, and also to Mr. J. O. Owens, the active secretary, to Mrs. Kerr for lending the plants, and he also referred in warm terms of gratitude to the past services" of Mr. Tom Phillips and Mr. C. Owen. It may.be remarked that the Church Choral Society's concert is now the only concert in Llanidloes which is given for music's sake, arid for music's sake alone, no expense being spared to secure the services of the best artistes available. A glance at the following balance sheet will convince every reader of the fact, and if any lover of music feels in a generous mood, the Secretary will be only too glad "to receive a contri¬ bution to put the balance on the right side. • " " .... £ s d- Proceeds of Concert ..
