Hrw^stli 2)eanet£ /Iftacja3ine, No. 7. Vol. i. JULY, 1893. Price One Penny. LLANIDLOES. The present number is given up to Llangurig, Llandinam and Trefeglwys, and we have only space *°r a few notes. The Choral Festival is fully described lri another column, but we must add our thanks, on behalf of Llanidloes, to Colonel & Mrs. Lloyd-Verney tor their hospitality and kindness. The Choir mus¬ tered in full force, but we missed the Parish Clerk who Wi*s so ill that his son and daughter could not leave him, he being in a highly critical state; and we ttuich regret to learn, just as we go to press, that •™r. Davies passed away this morning, June 30th, at ■*■ o'clock. We were glad to see not only the choir but large numbers of other Llanidloes folk at Llangurig. ■Ihose who took the trouble to go were rewarded, not 0llly by a pleasant trip in glorious weather, but also Dv a good service and a most useful sermon by the vicar of Welshpool on the Principles of Worship. On Sunda}r, June 18th, the Vicar was at Brecon, having exchanged with the Eev. M. Jones Power, senior Curate. Mr. Power preached morning and evening, and gave the greatest satisfaction, while his rendering of the service in the evening was quite a treat! The Vicar hopes to be able to arrange for ex¬ changes with tolerable frequency in order that his congregation may have the opportunity of hearing new v°*ces. But he would like to point out that such ex¬ changes are not holidays. He is arranging at present 0 have the Vicar of Welshpool over, possibly on the fourth Sunday in July, but the date is not yet de¬ finitely fixed. ■'■he preliminary notice of the Bazaar has been in- erted in the local paper during the past few weeks. ePtember 26th has been fixed for the Opening Day, "■ Lady Londonderry has kindly consented to per- rm the opening ceremony. The executive committee , as suffered from the loss of Mr. John Davies, who is ooiistant attendance on his father, but otherwise lngs are progressing well. But the time is getting short, and we shall need everybody's help if it is to be the real success we look forward to. Have you taken a square yet in the parish quilt ? If not, get one at once. Mrs. Cope, of the School House, has plenty in stock5 and each one will give you a chance of winning it. Whoever wins it will be able to contemplate the Parish Church in the centre, flanked on one side by the Bishop's mitre (he has kindly taken six squares for himself and family),and on the other by Lady London¬ derry's Coronet, and all around will be the names or initials of your friends and relatives. No one could be ill who slept under such a quilt, or, if they were, they would get well again directly. DEATHS. I omitted to send to the Magazine for June, the number and names of those who were confirmed from this parish, at the confirmation held lately by the Lord Bishop of the Diocese in this Deanery. The Vicar of Llanidloes, by mistake, stated that five from Llandinam received the rite at his church. There were seven confirmed at Llanidloes, viz:—John Harry Rees, Frederick Harold Rees, Thomas Edward Davies, John Ernest Davies, Jonathan Benbow Griffiths, Margaret Newell, Susannah Newell, Richard
