Will our readers join us in the following prayer? f^LMIGHTY God, the Father of our Lord and Saviour jgpflft Jesus Christ, help us to-day, at the beginning of another £@^ year, to look up unto Thee, and to call upon Thy holy name. We thank Thee for Thy great care over us during the year which has just passed away. Many a time were we surrounded with dangers, yet Thou didst preserve us. We are living monu¬ ments of Thy long-suffering. We thank Thee, 0 God. We thank Thee, likewise, for the innumerable mercies wherewith Thou wert pleased to favor us : they came unto us daily. 0 Lord, may we ever be disposed to recognize Thy hand. Let no evil heart of unbelief ever possess us in regard to the source of our gifts. May we always feel that fevei*y good and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." To-day, 0 Lord, for the sake of Jesus, accept our thanksgiving. With shamefacedness, Almighty Father, we acknowledge how unworthily we spent the past year. We promised our selves, and we hoped, to spend it much better than we did., Our evil heart, 0 Lord, deceived us day after day. Graciously pardon us, O God, and visit us not in Thy wrath. Come Thou to our help this new year, 0 Father. Keep O keep us from giving way to temptation, however subtle, or
