SALMON AT CHRISTMAS.—The following appears in Notes and Queries :—" John Ray, being in Wales in 1662, writes—' A story passes concerning salmons in the river Aberavon, that come up on Christmas-day, and may be handled, and then taken out at pleasure, and this is at¬ tested by all the country. EXTRAPAROCHIALS AND THE POOR. —The following from the Church Chest at Tong shews that all Extra-parochials did not act as Halston seems to have done (Bye-Goxes, July 5, 1889), and is also interesting as containing the signature of a member of a famous family, a Pendrell.
