296 College Notes. [May, to decide who should represent U.C.W., took place on the preceding Thursday, and resulted in the selection of J. LI Jones and F. Sandbach. Griffiths easily won in the some¬ what long time of 61 sec. SACK RACE. The two heats were in this case merged in one, which saved a considerable amount of time. After the usual amount of mirth-causing agony the following competitors were successful:— i. D. M. Jones. 2. Cadvan Jones. 3. A. J. Grieve. Prothero, who really secured second place, was disquali¬ fied owing to the fact that he took one of his arms out of the sack in the hope of assisting his progress LONG JUMP (OPEN). 1. W. D. Thomas (S.D.C., Lampeter). 2. J. P. Morgan (U.C.W.) 3. Cadvan Jones (U.C.W.). Thomas, the Lampeter champion, won easily with a very fine jump of 19 ft. 6 in. HALF-MILE HANDICAP. i. F. E. Sandbach (23 yds.) 2. F. W. Moorman (scratch). 3. Howell Davies (scratch). Time, 2 min. 15 sec. This race excited a good deal of interest. Moorman and Davies have each in former years secured first place, but were too severely handicapped to beat Sandbach, who, spurting in good style, came in well ahead. 90 YARDS HURDLE RACE i. S. C.
