PHOTOGRAPHIC SURVEY OF WALES. It is proposed that the National Museum shall include a photographic survey of Wales and Monmouthshire, the scope of which is outlined below. It is needless to say that such a collection of permanent photographs, lantern slides, and negatives, whilst being of great value and interest at the present time, will be increasingly so to future generations. The co-operation of all photographers is therefore invited in this important work. SCHEME OF SUBJECTS. I.—GEOLOGY. Land contours. River courses. Sections. Rocks. Fossils. (It is advisable to secure the help of a Geologist in deciding upon the extent of the picture and the best point of view.) 2.-METEOROLOGY. Haloes. Lightning. Remarkable clouds. Hailstones. Frost effects. 3. — Botany. Remarkable trees, shrubs, and plants. Botanical groups. Parasitic and symbiotic forms. Galls. 4.—ZOOLOGY. Mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, etc. Habitat. Habits and mode of life, including nests and rearing of young. 5.-ToPOGRAPHY. Landscapes of special beauty or interest. Views of towns and streets. Homes of famous men and women.
