THE WELSH OUTLOOK, CARDIFF. TO OUR READERS. 1st February, 1914. THE reception of the first number of The Welsh Outlook has been excellent in every way, and we should like to take this opportunity of thanking many of our readers for their kind ana helpful words of encouragement and advice. Our reception by the press has been most encouraging, and to them too we express our thanks. The result of last month's literary competitions will be given in our next number. For this month's competitions see page 46. We should like to remind our readers that we are prepared to answer questions, falling within our programme, sent to us by correspondents. We specially desire The Welsh Outlook to be helpful in all matters of Local Government, Health, Housing and Social problems generally. We are willing to consider articles sent to us, and such articles, if published will be paid for. They should be addressed to the Editor, and should be accompanied by the writer's name and address as a guarantee of good faith (not necessarily for publi- cation.) We cannot be responsible for rejected MSS. but shall endeavour to return them as soon as possible if a stamped and addressed envelope is enclosed. Contributions are invited to the Wales at Work pages from secretaries of national movements similar in character to those mentioned this month. If our readers find any difficulty in procuring The Welsh Outlook we hope that they will communicate with us as soon as possible. It is almost impossible to work up an adequate distribution of our paper without the co-operation of our readers. Bookstalls and bookshops are naturally shy of a new paper, and the only way of pointing out to them the necessity for stocking The Welsh Outlook is for our readers to keep on enquiring for it, and at the same time to let us know of their difficulty. We shall be glad to hear from any friend who would be willing to undertake the distribution of a certain number every month in his district. We hope that there will be some who will be ready to help us in this way. All subscriptions and business letters should be addressed to the Manager." Cheques, Postal Orders, and Money Orders should be made payable to The Welsh Outlook Press and crossed London City and Midland Bank Ltd. The Annual Subscription for the United Kingdom is 4/- post free, and 2/- for six months. THE EDITOR.
