Cymru

"Cymru" was a popular monthly publication with a strong unsectarian policy. It was very important in promoting Welsh cultural patriotism at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. It contained articles on the arts and literature. The publication was divided into two series for digitisation: Vol.1 (1891) – Vol. 17 (1899) and Vol. 18 (1900) – Vol. 72 (1927)

Publisher Details: Owen M. Edwards founded Cymru in 1891; he remained editor until 1920. The magazine was published by a series of Caenarfon-based companies, D.W. Davies ai’i Gwmni, Cwmni’r Wasg Genedlaethol Gymreig, and Cwmni’r Cyhoeddwyr Cymreig, and then by Hughes a’i Fab, Wrexham.
