In it we propose to record some of our school doings, but as it is probably true that as the nation with no history is happy, so is the School, we think it may add to the interest of our Magazine if it is not confined to the incidents of school life. Contributions on various subjects from mistresses, pupils, and members of the Rose Guild will be welcome, and when the School is a little older, no doubt more of these articles will be forthcoming. We hope more pupils will send in compositions and these, when suitable, will be published without editorial correction as we want to encourage original work. And now for a brief record of the year:— The School was opened in our temporary home, Hardwick House, on January 28th, 1892, for the examination of the pupils, and on January 29th, the Governors kindly came to greet the 46 girls who formed the original pupils, and to welcome the mistresses to Mon* mouth.
